Renewed grumbles about how the YHA can charge £100 a night (for 2) yet not chuck in a towel. Wanted to ask if I could throw in the towel but was led to my bike and told not to be a wuss.

Today‘s lessons:

  1. Breakfast is a good idea.

  2. If you decide to skip breakfast at YHA in favour of cafe in town, don’t cycle past them all without stopping.

  3. Take off your bike helmet when wasp flies in and doesn’t like it.

  4. When you come to a crossroads, not necessary to try each option before settling on initial choice.

  5. Not all hills are friends - some are scum and should be trodden underfoot.

  6. Fanta is not a nice drink. Even if it’s the only choice.

  7. Cornwall is ridiculously beautiful.

Goodnight!

What's with the pig?

Simon loved pigs and Puppet Pig, a furry glove puppet, was a particular friend. I hid him in unexpected places - drawers, Simon's satchel, under pillows - for the joy of hearing Simon say Eeeeee, Puppet Pig, what are you doing here?

Leaving Puppet Pig at home was not an option.
